Let’s recap the atmosphere in Skopje of the informative session for establishing Green Building Council.
On 23 May2024 at Chamber of Certified Architects and Certified Engineers the first informational event for the establishment of the Green Building Council of the Republic of N. Macedonia was held, as part of the network of national Green Building Councils in the Western Balkans region.
The event featured more than 60 attendees from the construction industry, ready to drive market change towards green building practices.
The event was opened by the president of the Chamber, Kristinka Chulak, MSc, and the regional manager of the RECONOMY program, Ms. Emilia Jovanova, PhD Risto Ivanov, as project manager, and Igor Pancevski, from the CeProSARD team, had their speeches, noting that the construction sector is one of the main sectors that must introduce changes: digitization, new green practices and reduction of energy consumption.
Blažen Zotovski from KNAUF and Veselinka Gerasimovska Petrovska, responsible architect at EAST GATE LIVING, presented the initiative to establish a Green Building Council in the Republic of N. Macedonia.
Dean Smolar, executive director of the Green Building Council Croatia, presented the methods of establishing a national Green Building Council, the benefits it brings to society and the construction sector itself. He emphasized that he will continue to support all the Green Building Councils in the region, including the Macedonian one, within the duration of the project.
