Оn November 28th, within the project “Together for introduction of more opportunities and respect – TIMOR“, 5 people with disabilities were resettled from the Special Institute Demir Kapija to a housing unit for supported living in Bashino Selo.

We are honored to share that this home represents the 9th housing unit for supported living in the community, successfully established within the project TIMOR and is part of the 10 small group homes provided in the deinstitutionalization process of the project. The housing unit will be managed by the Association of cerebral palsy and other disabilities – Veles, as a private social service provider of the service – living with support in the community for people with disabilities, where people will receive 24-hour care and attention, as well as inclusion in all aspects of social life.

The project “Together for introduction of more opportunities and respect – TIMOR“ aims to enable the implementation of the process of deinstitutionalization of persons with disabilities from residential institutions to housing units for supported living in the community, through the provision of innovative social services.

The project is financed by the European Union and is implemented within the EU Action Program to support education, employment and social policy, IPA II 2017.

The project is implemented in a consortium with:
• Association of special educators and rehabilitators of the Republic of North Macedonia;
• Special Institute Demir Kapija
• Municipality of Demir Kapija
• Loza Foundation, Sweden
