19 Apr CeProSARD on the Initial Workshop for launching a process for strengthening the capacities of stakeholders for ecosystem services – Program for nature conservation in Republic of North Macedonia
Within the framework of the Nature Conservation Program in North Macedonia, a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, coordinated by Pharmachem – Skopje, and the main partners of the Program are: Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of the Republic of North Macedonia, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of North Macedonia, PE “National Forests“, Center for Development of the East Planning Region, Faculty of Forestry in Skopje and North Macedonian Ecological Society, a workshop was organized to initiate a process for strengthening the capacities of the interested parties for the concluding ecosystem and ecosystem services.
Representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MoEPP) of the Republic of North Macedonia spoke at the opening of workshop.
The component for the establishment of a mechanism for payment of ecosystem services was addressed by a representative from the Program and the North Macedonian Ecological Society.
For the experiences from the process of strengthening the capacities of the stakeholders for ecosystem services in the Republic of Bulgaria – spoke Svetla Bratanova Doncheva, Institute of Biological Diversity and Ecosystem Research of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The Nature Conservation Program in North Macedonia – Phase 2 is a project of the Swiss Agency for Development (SDC), which aims to help the Republic of North Macedonia in preserving its unique ecosystems and biodiversity by promoting their sustainable management and use.
