18 Dec Biodiversity protection trough creating and effective management with protected areas and sustaining the biodiversity in planning of land usage
CeProSARD – Macedonian Center for Promotion of Sustainable Agricultural Practices and Rural Development on 18th December with it`s representative have participated at final event: Meeting Biodiversity protection trough creating and effective management with protected areas and sustaining the biodiversity in planning of land usage. The event was organized By Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning and supported by the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) as a part of the second component of GEF/UNEP project.
At this event were presented the results of the two year process of creation of the national Red lists of Republic of North Macedonia, which makes our country to become a part of the member states with national Red lists according the the recommendations of IUCN.
At the event was also presented the National web page of red Lists, detailed data on lizards and amphibians, the Priority list for vascular plants, and also there was a discussion about the usage of Red Lists in national; policy and their future development.
The process of development of Red Lists in N. Macedonia is leaded by Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning with support from International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) via UNICEF for Europe and East Asia (ECARO) office established in Belgrade.
