On 19-20.04.2018 in hotel Bistra, Mavrovo The Association “Center for promotion of sustainable agricultural practices and rural development“ – CeProSARD; together with Local Action Group Una from Croatia and The Association of Young Farmers Asaja Granada from Spain held Informative Event, Steering Committee and Three Round Tables which were organized within the project “Building capacities to sustain the development of Local Action Groups in the EU integration processes (BUILDLAG)”. The project is funded by the European Union within the National Programme for Transition Assistance and Institutional Building 2013, Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance. Within the planned activities was held the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the project.

The event was attended by representatives from the local authorities, civil society organizations from the rural areas and the business sector. The activities, discussions and the workshops that were held contributed for increasing the knowledge and strengthening the capacities of civil society and local authorities about sustainable functioning of LAGs through transfer of EU experience and best practices, as well as establishing functional partnership among civil society and local authorities in new LAG and its support. The workshops were held in order to enable the experts an opportunity to identify the current situation, so by the end of the project they could provide policy recommendations for promoting LAGs and their benefits. This event contributed for raising public awareness about advantages of LAGs and EU integrated policy.

The project aims to strengthen public-private partnership between rural non-governmental organizations, business associations and local authorities through the transfer of knowledge, best practices and experience transmitted by the EU for the establishment and operation of Local Action Groups (LAGs). Inclusion of all stakeholders in the project will enable development and their improvement, will encourage partnerships for joint activities and will contribute to the global processes in this area.

Тhe project is funded by the European Union and is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy
