11 Mar Within the project “Capacity Building for Sustainable Development of Local Action Groups – LAG in EU Integration Processes“ a consultative meeting was held with the Director of the Center for Development of the Polog planning region
On 11.03.2019 in the premises of CeProSARD, Skopje the project team held a meeting with the Director of the Center for Development of the Polog planning region, Mr. Fatmir Saiti. On the meeting was discussed the status of the activities related to the registration and establishment of the new LAG in the Polog region. The meeting emphasized the importance and the need for proactive participation in the activities from all involved parties, in order to timely finish the envisaged activities in accordance with the timeframe of the project.
The project aims to strengthen public-private partnership between rural non-governmental organizations, business associations and local authorities through the transfer of knowledge, best practices and experience transmitted by the EU for the establishment and operation of Local Action Groups (LAGs). Target groups of the project are Macedonian rural non-governmental organizations, business associations, as well as local authorities. Inclusion of all stakeholders in the project will enable development and their improvement, will encourage partnerships for joint activities and will contribute to the global processes in this area.
The newly formed LAG in the Polog region will include the municipalities of Tetovo, Zhelino and part of the territory of the municipality of Brvenica.
