Great Way for Sustainable Heating in Radovish: A Model for Energy Efficiency and Environmental Sustainability

As the world faces the twin challenges of climate change and unsustainable energy consumption, municipalities around the globe are stepping up with innovative solutions. In the Municipality of Radovish, North Macedonia, the project „Green Heat” is set to transform the local energy landscape through the adoption of sustainable heating practices. This project aims to establish an energy-efficient, low-carbon heating model, characterized by the widespread installation of Air – Water Heat Pumps, the creation of a forward-thinking energy management company, and the active engagement of the local community in cultivating a sustainable energy culture.
The core objective of this project is to establish a model of sustainable heating that reduces carbon emissions, improves energy efficiency, and promotes renewable energy use in Radovish. The novel heating system (heat pumps) in the five public buildings in Radovish will be supplied by electricity produced from PV placed on the roof of these buildings. The set-up of the PV system is a parallel activity of the Municipality of Radovish and investment covered by combinign other resources.
