08 Nov Installation of system for monitoring of large carnivores in National Park Pelister
A team of experts for monitoring engaged by CeProSARD together with the rangers from NP Pelister completed the installation of a system for monitoring of large carnivores. The activity was finalized on 8 November 2018 with setting up of 10 photo traps on several locations on the territory of the Park.
The aim of this system is monitoring and protection of brown bear (Ursus arctos), lynx (Lynx lynx) and wolf (Canis lupus).
The procurement of the system which besides cameras contains computer and other accompanying equipment was carried out within the project “Support for better management of natural resources in the National Park Pelister“.
The project is part of the Program for improved management of protected areas, financed by the European Union, and implemented by UNDP.
