CA CeProSARD in cooperation with the Municipality of Gostivar, to support social entrepreneurship and sustainable green development

On 04.04.2022 in the office of the Mayor of the Municipality of Gostivar, the project team of the project “Support to Social Enterprises by following the principle – Leave no one behind“, implemented by the Citizens’ Association – Center for Promotion of Sustainable Agricultural Practices and Rural Development – CeProSARD, held a working meeting with the Mayor of the municipality, Mr. Arben Taravari.

At the meeting, the representatives of CA CeProSARD presented the implemented activities of the association so far and the activities of the current project “Support to Social Enterprises by following the principle – Leave no one behind“. The project is funded by the European Union.

The best ways for contact of the stakeholders that would contribute to the realization of the planned project activities were discussed.

The Mayor, Mr. Arben Taravari shared his views on the opportunities offered by the Municipality of Gostivar for support and development of social entrepreneurship, the need for environmental protection and the need to develop green economic growth in the municipality.

Information was shared on the cooperation with ZG CeProSARD in the past period, as well as the need for joint action for development of social entrepreneurship in the municipality of Gostivar, as well as opinion on the current situation regarding social entrepreneurship in the municipality, and possible cooperation with social organizations and development of their capacities.

An example of possible cooperation was the Autism Center, to which the municipality aims to donate equipment, where trained nutritionists will compile a list of organic food dishes that trained people can prepare. The following example was a local organization that tirelessly during the pandemic with COVID-19 until today prepares food for more than 300 families at risk, from the municipality and surrounding settlements, the procurement of groceries is by the business sector as non-financial support, and a person with Down Syndrome participates in the preparation of meals.

The Mayor expressed interest in further cooperation and support of the entire process of Social Entrepreneurship, as well as the opportunities for future cooperation of the Municipality with the civil society, where the representatives of CA CeProSARD emphasized the opportunities for cooperation in other projects from various donors such as EU or other institutions.

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed at the meeting in order to provide mutual support, assistance and cooperation for the implementation of activities of mutual interest.
