Adaptation of existing municipal facilities in kindergartens in two rural settlements in the municipality of Strumica with funds from the EU IPA grant for rural infrastructure

For the purpose of preparation of a document for evaluation of the project “Adaptation of existing municipal facilities in kindergartens“ in two rural settlements in the municipality of Strumica, on 30.11.2017, representatives of the team of CeProSARD, engaged by the MSIP project at the Ministry of Finance, visited the municipality of Strumica. Separate meetings were held with the Mayor of the Municipality Mr. Kosta Janevski, members of the municipal council, citizens from the settlements Kuklish and Murtino and the municipal administration. The purpose of the talks was to determine the actual needs for adaptation of municipal facilities in kindergartens in the rural settlements Kuklish and Murtino. After the interviews made with the focus groups, the activities continued on the field where an insight into the existing situation was made on the spot. Adaptation of existing municipal facilities to kindergartens at locations adjacent to existing primary schools enables functional solution of the space and care of 70 children. This is the fastest way to provide quality facilities with improved thermal and hydro isolation and structure of organizational units for child care from 2 to 6 years. At the same time, the adaptation of existing buildings using thermal insulation measures is in line with the strategic commitment for energy efficiency of the Municipality of Strumica. The overall organization of the meeting was realized through the cooperation of the team of CeProSARD with Mr. Pance Bedzovski from the Sector for Local Economic Development from the municipality.

Part of the funds for the implementation of the project will be provided by the component of EU investment grants from the IPA, through the MSIP project for improvement of municipal services. The remaining part of funds for care and education of preschool children in rural settlements Kuklish and Murtino will be provided by the Municipality of Strumica from the municipal budget.
