On 05 and 06 December 2018 in Bitola, CeProSARD and NP Pelister organized a training for monitoring of brown bear (Ursus arctos), lynx (Lynx lynx) and wolf (Canis lupus)

On 05 and 06 December 2018, at Hotel Kapri in Bitola, CeProSARD organized training for monitoring of brown bear (Ursus arctos), lynx (Lynx lynx) and wolf (Canis lupus) for the employees of the National Park “Pelister“.

The training was organized within the project “Support for improved management of natural resources in the National Park Pelister“ as part of the Working package for monitoring of large carnivores. The training was preceded by procurement and installation of 10 photo-traps and accompanying IT equipment.

The first day of the training, two experienced experts for large carnivores, Aleksander Stojanov and Aleksander Sarov, had theoretical presentations, while for the second day, practical training was carried out at the locations of the photo-traps.

The project is part of the Program for improved management of protected areas, financed by the European Union, and implemented by UNDP in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of the Republic of Macedonia.
